Scott grew up in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. He began his university career studying psychology at the University of Alberta, graduating in 1975. In 1978, he obtained his law degree at the University of Alberta. Scott was called to the Bar in 1979.
Scott, along with Jacqueline Schaffter, started the firm in 1983. Jacqueline is now a Judge with the Alberta Court of Justice.
In addition to practicing law, Scott is actively involved within the Camrose community. He has served on the Bethany Board, the Ski Racing Board of Directors (Edmonton), Kinsmen Board of Directors, and the RCMP Public Complaints Commission. He currently serves on the Camrose Friends of Stars Board. In his free time, Scott enjoys hiking, downhill skiing, spending time with his family and grandchildren, and travelling.
